We may have an occasional glimpse of something that moves us, a sunset, a beautiful piece of music, an aroma that reminds us of better times.  We may occasionally see something beyond us as we walk along nature or experience a brief connection with another person that is deeper than ordinary.  We at times may feel a spiritual longing....a deep knowing that there is more than we currently have, and more to life than we are experiencing in the daily grind.

For most of us though, these sublime feelings of a deeper, more meaningful life are rare, accidental occurrences. Procrastination, apathy, indecision and mediocrity take over.  Hopelessness and fear are the messages we are inundated with reinforced with social media and the news.  We are conditioned to believe that an extra ordinary life is the dream of idealist, the dream of children who refuse to grow up.

This fearful overview of the world is reinforced by a very primitive part of our brains; the old lower survival brain.  this old part of the brain was designed to keep us from being eaten in a predator-rich environment and is still active today.

THE LOWER BRAIN SEEKS "SAMENESS" BECAUSE SAMENESS EQUALS SAFETY.

GROWTH REQUIRES CHANGE WHICH COMPLETELY GOES AGAINST THAT LOWER BRAIN STRUCTURE.
